District of Columbia (Washington)
In the District of Columbia, elections are overseen by District of Columbia Board of Elections.
CHECK YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION STATUS AND FIND YOUR POLLING PLACE:
REGISTERING TO VOTE IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA:
Same Day Registration is available with proof of residence.
Register online (with valid DC driver’s license), or fill out the same online form and submit by mail or in person at Board of Elections or any DC agency offices.
Deadline no later than 21st day before the election.
Closed Primaries, meaning voters can only vote in the primary of the party in which they are registered.
WAYS TO VOTE:
In Person on Election Day
Early (Goes from October 22, 2018 – November 2, 2018, 8:30am-7:00pm at these locations.)
Absentee by Mail or in Person (Mail in requests must be received no later than the 7th day before the election. Ballots must be received by 8:00pm Election Day. The request can be done electronically on a smart phone or tablet. Also, any form of written and signed communication requesting an absentee ballot is acceptable.)
