In Rhode Island, elections are overseen by the Rhode Island Board of Elections.

REGISTERING TO VOTE IN RHODE ISLAND:
Same day registration is available in the Presidential Election only.
Register by October 7, 2018.
Semi-Closed Primaries, meaning voters affiliated with a party must vote on their party’s ballot but unaffiliated voters can choose which ballot to vote on.
Changes in party affiliation must be made at least 90 days before the primary.
WAYS TO VOTE:
In Person on Election Day
By Mail (Applications must be received by 4:00pm on the 21st day before Election Day. Emergency mail ballots are available to people with last-minute conflicts and can be requested until 4:00pm the day before Election Day. They must be returned to: State Board of Elections at 50 Branch Avenue Providence, R.I. 02904 by 8:00pm on Election Day.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
ID is required to vote.
Acceptable forms of ID include: RI driver’s license, US passport, ID card issued by a US-located educational institution, US military ID card, ID card issued by US government or State of RI (RIPTA bus pass, etc.), government issued medical card, or RI Voter ID card.
Voters without ID can vote a provisional ballot, which will be counted if the signature matches voter's registration record.
