Oregon

In Oregon elections are overseen by the Oregon Secretary of State.

REGISTERING TO VOTE IN:

  • Register online, by mail, or in person at a County Election Office.

  • Voters must register by 21st day before an election.

  • ID is required to register, but not to vote.

    • For first-time registrants must provide either: Their current driver’s number, the last 4 digits of their social, or an assigned unique number.

    • For registrants who haven’t provided the above with their registrations, they may show a current photo ID, or a copy of a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government document at a County Elections Office or by mail.

PRIMARY RULES:

  • Closed Primaries, meaning voters must vote in the primary of the party with which they are registered. Unaffiliated voters cannot vote in the primaries.

WAYS TO VOTE:

  • By Mail (All of Oregon votes by mail. Voters receive their ballots approximately two weeks before the election and can either return them by mail or to drop-off locations throughout the state. All ballots must be recieved by 8:00pm on Election Day.)
