In New Mexico elections are overseen by the New Mexico Secretary of State.

REGISTERING TO VOTE IN NEW MEXICO:

  • Register online with state driver’s license, by mail, or in person at a County Clerk’s office.

  • Voters must register 25 days before the election.

 

PRIMARY RULES:

  • Closed Primaries, meaning voters must vote in the primary of the party with which they are registered.

WAYS TO VOTE:

  • In Person on Election Day

  • Early In Person (Early voting locations open in each county beginning on Saturday, October 20, 2018 and continue through Saturday, November 3, 2018. Please check locations and hours of operation by visiting NMVote.org or by contacting your County Clerk’s Office.)

  • Absentee / By Mail (Absentee voting begins at County Clerk’s Office October 9, 2018. Mail in application must be received by Friday before the election. Ballot must be returned by 7:00pm on election day.)

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

  • ID may be required from first time voters if they did not present ID at time of registration.
