In Minnesota elections are overseen by the Minnesota Secretary of State.

REGISTERING TO VOTE IN MINNESOTA:

  • Same Day Registration is available. More information here.

  • Register online with state driver’s license and email address, by mail or in-person at a county election office.

  • Voters must register 20 days before an election.

PRIMARY RULES:

  • Open Primaries, meaning registered voters can choose which party’s primary to vote in. Minnesota does not offer party registration.

WAYS TO VOTE:

  • In Person on Election Day

  • ID is not required to vote, unless using same day registration.
